All original works of authorship
with a “modicum of creativity” that have been fixed in
a tangible medium of expression are protected under the
Copyright Law. Once these requirements are met, you have
a copyright. However, it is an unregistered one.
Registering a Copyright
Although not required, registering a copyright does provide
some legal advantages for the copyright owner. You
can review these Registration
Advantages and find the latest copyright Registration
Procedures on the Copyright Office website. |
